    Default fistula?

so, the thing is that i was diagonsed with lupus (kidney) 3 years ago. two years ago, i had a fistula place into my left arm... The only problem is that i never had to go to dialysis. so now i have a fistula in my left arm that doesn't serve any purpose besides a cool scar and a nasty looking vein sticking out. should i have my arm done, to remove the fistula?

by the way i'm 21 years old which has big impact on my opinions

This is something you need to discuss with your doctors. It's something you may need in the future. If you have it removed, how easy or hard would it be to replace it? There are a lot of questions to be answered before you make a decision.

I can't help you with these answers; someone else may be able to. I can only point out the need for these answers before you make that decision.
Good luck and educate yourself first,

I have never heard of them leaving it in if they were not going to use it that could be a channel for bacteria or germs. I sure would ask my rhumey. bonita

maybe you should leave just so you don't have to have it done again later !
