I'm a teacher and I'm home sick today with laryngitis. Seem to get this every year. I have Sjogren's Syndrome, so the extreme dry mouth is a culprit.
It feels like this is turning into bronchitis. I just got over a lung/throat inflammation in October where I couldn't breathe. I was on predinose and an antibiotic for that and it lingered for months. Now this-- and it is definitely, the wet, coughing, turning into pneumonia kind of infection.
Does anybody else go through this every year?? I need to get myself to a doctor, but I just finished antibiotics and don't want another round. Any other things I can try (non-drying meds necessary because of the Sjogren's)? I would love to hear of some OC meds or home remedies (tea with brandy sounds good)!!
Hi, I get Laryngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia at least once or twice a year. As for laryngitis, I have constant congestion so that every day around 4 my voice takes a hike. Since I started taking the plaquinel, my bouts are not as severe as they used to be. As for antibotics, I sometimes have to go with 3-4 rounds to kick something.
As for home remedies, steam and hot toddies. (tea, honey and the liquor of your choice)
