    Default Bruised and swollen hand

Ok, I don't get this. I was sitting on the couch last night playing video games, and I look down at my hand and I see this red mark forming, no idea why either. Then this morning I wake up to this HUGE mark on the top of my hand, and it REALLY HURTS. I swear to God I did NOT hurt myself, bang myself, at all, I really can't remember doing anything to my hand what so ever, so why the heck did this form?
I take 10mgs of prednisone and I know it causes thin skin, but does it also make your veins explode too? I've been icing it but I can't use my hand much because it hurts so bad and it's made the rest of my fingers swell too.

Has this happened to anybody else? I've attached a picture, I hope it works.

Wow! That even looks like it hurts! I am at a loss on this one. I know my thin has become thin but I have never had this happen. Hopefully someone will follow that has more answers for you!

    Ohhh that looks bad.
I do get exploding veins, but only on the indide of my fingers, for no reason and it hurts like heck.
Two days later it is usually gone. The rheumy has no idea either. But I have never had it, when I went to see him.

I may have been dealt a bad hand, but at least I'm still playing with a full deck. ( most of the time anyway).

I probably won't have it when I get to see my new rheum either, I'm still waiting to get a call for my appointment. I guess if debbie gets exploding veins maybe this is what this is too? It really does hurt very bad, it throbs and its so sensitive that a light touch makes me clench my teeth.

I hope yours goes away as fast as mine does, because I know how much it hurts.

ouch! that looks painful. If it were my hand, I would be going to the dr immediately b/c I would think your med levels might need to be checked/adjusted. I hope that it goes away quickly.
As long as this body works, I am going to enjoy life to the fullest for each second of every moment that I can.

Did you get an answer to this one? It is the mirror image of what happened to my son's hand.
We are seeing rheumatologist on Friday. He is getting pains all over esp. arms and legs. Today his feet are really bad!
Hope your hand is better. Regards, Chrissie, UK.
