Default Am I suffering from LUPUS???

I have mouth/nose sores, recurring low grade fever/respiratory infection, heart palpitations, chest pains, blood in stool, asthma, chronic fatigue even after sleeping many hours. I have a painful red rash on my back with blood, pus, clear liquid but no facial rash. I had painful bumps on both my thighs a while ago that pussed and healed. I feel better after taking steroids like Prednisone. My hemoglobin, RBC, WBC are all normal. Is ANA the best test?

well I was just told back in Feb that I have Lupus and I have read so much about it after I was told that. but as for your ? I strongly think that may as well have Lupus.and yes my doc told me that the best test is an ANA but even if that comes back normal sad to say you may still be stuffering from luspu I know how you feel about the fatigue becaues I suffer from sever fatigue.and it drives me crazy because I can do what I always could do I can barely keep up with my 10 and 3 year old. well I will tell you to stay on the prednisone and have your doc run some more test.

    Hello Pain32,

It's really hard to say whether you have Lupus or not, as the disease can manifest itself in many different ways in many different people. No two people will have the exact same symptoms. However, some of your symptoms are ones that can be associated with Lupus, so it's possible. ANA is a good indicator of autoimmune activity, but there is no single test that can prove Lupus. Also, around five to ten percent of people with Lupus will have a negative ANA. Do you have a Rheumotologist you are seeing? They are the principle specialist who usually makes an initial diagnosis.

I hope we can help you find the answers you need. Welcome to WHL.

Lupus or any number of autoimmune diseases can do many things. It just depends on what part of the body is being affected. If you are having your heart race you may want to see a doctor since the heart is not something to be messed with
