Default New to site, looking for a good rheumatologist

    Hi all,

Based on my blood work I thought I had lupus, but my gp says no. He wants me to see a rheumatologist but the earliest I can get in where I live is Feb next year!

I live in Australia, so if anyone can recommend a good rheumy in Sydney area can you please pm me. I have been suffering with the whole gammit of worsening symptoms for several years now and am at the end of my rope.

So please if you can help, i'd really appreciate it.

    Kylie

P.S. Love the site, very supportive people here

I know people who ring quite a few specialists making appointments, then cancelling them when they find one that has the closest time. You might also ask how much they charge and how much out of pocket you will be after you claim Medicare. If you have a Health Care Card, you could also ask if they bulk bill.

Thanks Linda, i'm worried about going and seeing just anyone as you never know how good they are, i'm hoping someone can recommend one that they are happy with or have heard is really good, as i've spent a good portion of the past 4 years being told it's all in my head and now my blood work is backing me up I don't want to muck around with quacks anymore.
If all else fails i'll do what you suggested.
