Did anyone see Off the Map last night? It's a series about some doctors who run a clinic in S. America. The patient last night came in with a swollen rashy knee, shortness of breathe/pain on breathing and had a seizure and fluid around her heart. The doctor ran a SED rate and of course she has Lupus. I was so happy to see someone on tv diagnosed without the labs/malar rash. They didn't really go too far into explaining it but still, it was at least mentioned.

I haven't heard anything on TV except about the new med. But I was out talking to my new neighbor and she was telling me that they are watching her for Lupus. She said that she has many symptoms but neg. bloodwork. I told her about our site here were she could read all about everyones symptoms which might help her.

House on tv mentions lupus quite a bit... It's always the teams go to but... It never actually ends up being lupus. However, they mentioned it so many times on that show I eventually looked it up and found out what it was. And now I have it. Lol I am not a house mystery anymore... I am their lupus case haha

I haven't watched that episode yet! Loove that show! It's sitting on my dvr waiting for me to watch it. It'll be interesting to watch since it has a lupus patient on it! Even though it's interesting anyways.

I think House is the reason so many more people are aware too. I often wonder if one of their writers or consultants doesn't also have Lupus since they mention it so often. I also think House is the main reason so many other medical shows are finally recognizing it in their scripts.

I LOVE House it is my favorite show. If you want to watch the little clip from the episode where they have a case of lupus here it is lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbZ7EpmaK_o If you just search House and lupus on youtube there are so many clips lol I seriously watch this show multiple times everyday its so good. I love that people are definitely more aware of Lupus because of it.

Lol I'm going to have to watch the episode where it actually is lupus. I always found it funny they mentioned it so much but the patient never actually had it.

I was cracking up watching an episode early today because it came on right after I was reading this. The girl (Cameron) was thoroughly convinced it was lupus like the entire episode and explained what it was several times and it was really brought up every few minutes lol Obviously it wasn't lupus because on House "its never lupus" but I found it funny it was brought up SO MANY TIMES in one episode right after talking about it on here lol
