    Default Lupus Nephritis and Drinking

Basically can you drink alcohol while having this disease. If so all in moderation correct?

P.S Im Australian which means i live in australia which also means we can drink at 18 years old. So im not breaking any laws like I would be in the US.

I know that at your age, you want to interact with your friends. I myself like to go out with my friends for a drink. Mine is usually a soft drink. Just because I don't do the alcohol doesn't mean I can't party. As for your question I will let those who know more answer in respect to the nephritis. When I first got sick years and years ago my doc allowed 1 drink a month.

Your best bet is to ask the doc.

I can't answer your question fully either, but have you considered non-alcoholic beers? I am assuming that you are drinking beers b/c of your age, but even mixed drinks can mostly be made to be non-alcoholic. Then you won't look and feel so different when out with your friends. That being said and all, I agree with Nonna that you should check with your doc. I am even second guessing my guess b/c of the sugars in mixed drinks and alcohol sugars in alcohol. Probably not so good for someone with kidney issues. Either way, I'm sure your friends would rather hang with you sober (after all they will need a DD) than to hang with you laid out in the hospital from not listening to drs and abusing your kidneys so please be sure to check with the doc.
As long as this body works, I am going to enjoy life to the fullest for each second of every moment that I can.
