    Default Ocular Migranes

Odd... rheumy sent me to have eyes checked, due to odd visual issues (rippling effect, sometimes a minor little headache). Eye doc said I have ocular migranes, even though I have had the same visual issues off-on for 10 years. So now they want me to go to neurologist to discuss it.

    Is this unusual?

I don't know if it's a side effect of the lupus meds or of Lupus itself but I've had vision issues since last July focus and blurriness, no rippling. As for headaches, that's another story. I think your eye doc was wise to recommend the neuro in that the symptoms you mentoned are also migraine related

good luck and hugs for you,

I had vision problems when I got diagnosed in the midst of a flare. I have crappy eyesight to begin with but had a weird fanning ripple at times. They found scarring on my cornea but with all the prednisone and every other drug at the time, the problem and the scarring went away.
Good luck. Extra testing always helps.
