    Default Got some questions

My husband and I were talking about my lupus and he made a good point that maybe my bi-polarism could be hightening the lupus. Could he be right? When I'm in a depressive mood could it make the lupus worse or hide it? When I'm manic and have other symptoms (other than the butterfly on my face) could the lupus make my mood even worse? Could the bi-polarism make the lupus worse?

There is much research into the affects of mood (particularly stress and depression) on Lupus. Most research has indicated that stress and depression can cause Lupus to worsen (flare-up). So, it is quite plausible that your bi-polar moods would affect the disposition of your Lupus. I've read almost nothing about Lupus aggravating bi-polar moods, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. So, you and your husband may be right!
