Golly, Ms Mollie! Not everyone has the same metabolism, genetic makeup, or the same environmental factors. Food allergies as you imply may be considered in the big picture, but surely, can not stand on its own.
For example: I went on a diabetic diet, solely on my own, because I figured it would not only cut calories, sugar and carbohydrates and fats but also make me feel better, detoxed from junk, and better able to control my weight. NOT! My doctor and a dietician both told me, it did not matter if I ate no fat, no sugar, no meat - my body would and does automatically turn everything that enters my mouth into fat, cholesterol; my triglycerides are +3000, they don't even register on the scale, yet I am only 8 lbs overweight. Go figure. Just don't rely so much on the things you read or "hear" about but moreso on the way you feel, and how different things make you feel. I feel better the whole day when I get exercise in the morning when I can move; days I can't I feel worse, and exercise in the evening is painful and exhausting. So I exercise when I can and don't when I can't - I know what to expect from my body - I guess because I've lived with it for sooo long! Anyway, great for you that holistic concoctions are working for ya....I say, to each his/her own....as long as you share and not shove! Take good care. Best of health and luck to ya! Deb
