    Default Kicked in the Ribs

This is a new one for me. I awoke yesterday with left sided rib pain/tenderness. If I place my left hand under the left breast, the pain is at the back part of the palm. I did a search on WHL and see mention of pain at where sternum and ribs meet, but not the area that I describe.

It doesn't particularly hurt if a breath deeply.

I wasn't out bungee jumping, running or anything on Saturday, so I can only assume it's a SLE thing. Any thoughts?

I get this problem often. Most of the time the pain is right at the bottom most rib either on the right or left front. My problem is Costochondritis. It's inflammation of the cartilage and connective tissue around and between the ribs. Mine can be quite painful, but the sharp pain is usually short lived, and it gets just plain sore feeling. I take naproxen, and it helps. I've also put a hot pack over the area and it helps as well. As bad as it can hurt, there's no real damage or danger from it.
