I had no idea people came up here to get perscriptions filled. Or that they were cheaper.. Shows what I know.

    wow oluwa,

your research seems to support your option for getting meds in Canada. And logically speaking, your husband's travels to Canada will make this option feasible.

I am learning and thinking a lot from the posts in this thread...thanks again.

    You're welcome...

But ya know what..I never followed through so I can't tell you of my experience. For me it felt like too much work for my tired mind and body...chuckle.

But that is an option....you never know, might attempt it again when I return to Seattle, being close to B.C. if the MTX doesn't work...

Do you mean the drug lords fighting over the privledge to sell pot and crack to US customers?

Medication here is Mexico is reasonably priced. For example; The "Maximum Public Cost" (Precio Maximo al Publico) for Plaquenil 200mg box of 20 tablets is $393.00 pesos (about US$30.00) but I get it at Sam's for about $220.00 pesos (less than US$20.00).

    Oluwa -

Have you looked into the mail programs from Canada? My grandmother uses one to get her most expensive meds. She hasn't had problems with it. If you want, I can find out the name of the program she uses.

Also, does your insurance have a US mail program like MEDCO? Although not cheap, they are still cheaper and usually bigger amounts (3 months supply instead of 1) then a month to month script.

YIKES! I think it's terrible that in such an "advanced" society we pay through the nose for basic medical needs such as perscriptions. I am going to see if I can find out more about options for you. I am going to ask my grandma what her mail program was b/c she shipped directly from Canada.

    That is your co-pay?
Assuming a co-pay of 5% that means a box of 20 pills cost about US$145.00!

Can that be correct? 7 times as much as here? For the SAME medicine?
