Default how long have you had Lupus?

I was just curious how long every1 has been diagnosed with Lupus, and then how long do you think you had it before diagnoses? I've been diagnosed 2years, but think I have had it for 8 or more years.

I was diagnosed with SLE just over five years ago, and with MS just about 1 year ago. I'm sure I had SLE long before the diagnosis though. Like so many of us, I spent many years dealing with seemingly unrelated symptoms and health problems before the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. I believe I had Lupus for around ten years before it was discovered.

I've been in my ongoing battle for 27 years........diagnosed back when I was 18.

I was diagnosed by my family doc that had seen me all my life...he ran the right tests...I tested positive the first time....entered the diagnosis in my chart and never had anyone question it after that. Made it pretty simple in dealing with all the docs that followed.

Wish a diagnosis was that simple for everyone.

I have had Lupus they believe since 1963 when I was just 5 years old, but did not get diagnosed until I was 36 years old thanks to the doctors not listening to me and treating me like a dang hypochondriac. The Lupus nearly killed me before they finally diagnosed me with Lupus, SLE type. It started affecting my heart and kidneys and lungs etc. It was not good at all. I am 50 years old now. I was officially diagnosed in 1996 or something like that. It seems like a long time ago though. I also have several other auto-immunes.

    Hugs,
    Kathy
Lupus for many years. Like most of my life. Sjogrens that started at 35 and Scoliosis, Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Osteo-Arthritis of the spine, Ankylosing Spondilitis, Periferal Neuropathy, mild CP and now just recently diagnosed with PA. I had a disc replaced in December of 2007.

    Medications:
Plaquenil, Sulindac, Imuran, Celiac diet, Tramadol and B12 shot once a month.
