Default Burning Eyes anyone, odd symptom

Been noticing this more and more of late, not sure if it is related.

My eyes suddenly start to burn and itch, sometimes it feels like I have sand in them. My vision blurs and they hurt. Sometimes so bad I can't see that well. Oddly they don't tear, actually the oposite happens, they get really dry.

This used to happen once a month, then it was once a week, now I get it several times a day. This is turning into a problem because sometimes I am driving when it happens and have to close the effected eye or drive in a blur. I know this sounds wierd, but it happens.

is this something that can happen with a flair?

    hi just dave,
sounds like you may have sjoren's disease (sp)/. this causes dry eyes (feels like sand paper)and dry mouth. I believe the dr. can give you relief in form of eye drops,. etc.

    good luck

Sounds like classic Sjogren's symptoms. Be sure to mention your new symptoms to your rheumy.
