Sandra, I've suffered from insomnia for years, and lupus has just made it worse. I take Ambien at night, but even that doesn't always do much. I will have 'good' periods when I can sleep an 8 hour stretch. But, 4 or 5 hours is more common. And when I'm in a painful flare - forget sleeping! Hips, knees, calves, ankles, elbows, wrists - everything hurts. I have fibromyalgia (just as Saysusie and many others here do) and it really wreaks havoc with sleep. Talk to your doctor about you having difficulty sleeping. Restorative sleep is so critical to taking care of yourself. Hope you rested well last night (I didn't....rats!)
