    Default Big changes coming my way!

    I have been on many different medications since my diagnosis. One that I hated the most was Methotrexate. My doctor, after 7 years, has finallydecided to attempt to take me off of it, since it made it SO miserable and was starting to affect my liver numbers in my blood work. He said that i've been doing very well with maintaining my lupus symptoms so it's worth a shot. I'm so thankful, but kind of nervous since this is a really big change from what my body is used to!

    Should I be nervous?

    Be careful with metho. A good friend of mine developed lung nodules.

    what other medications are you using at the moment?
    When you're stressed, You eat Ice cream, Cake, Chocolate & Sweets. Why? Because stressed spelled backwards is DESSERTS.

    Hi;
    I have the same questions as Steve?? Is there a medication that he suggests instead of the MTX? I surely hope that he is not suggesting that you go cold turkey with nothing to protect you as the MTX did!! Please let us know!

    I still take my plaquenil (300mg) as well as prednisone and a few other supplements and my Keppra for seizures. He said that since I've been symptom free for quite some time that he is willing to stop the mtx and if I start to not fee okay, we can try something new or if worse comes to worst, go back to mtx. But I definitely do not Want to do that

    Hi Ashley;
    If you've been free of severe symptoms for quite a while, I think that your current regimen will work just fine. I, too, hope that you do not have to go back on the MTX..but that is the worst case scenario. So, we're all keeping our fingers crossed that you never have to!!
    Sending you warm hugs.
