    Default Insane Itching all over from head to toe!!!!! HELP!!!

    :!: Has anybody had this it is absolutely driving me crazy. It's not all over all of the time but seems to migrate all day and all night all over!!!

    I wonder if this is lupus related or something entirely different,..I have this hive kind of thing pretty much all over and earlier this afternoon just above my knee nearly drove me insane causing me to scratch so hard it was going red and has left me with a bruised kind of look like broken blood vessels.

    Actually thinking I should go see the after hours doc or something but still curious as to others' experiences as well.

    Thanks, Kaz

    Hi Mumma7;
    Often, Lupus patients develop hives which can cause itchy skin. Are the areas red weals? Also, lupus rashes can itch when your disease is active.
    Also, some medications can have itchy skin as a side effect, especially medications used for Lupus Nephritis; medications used for symptoms of Fibromyalgia; medications used for migraines; medications used for Raynaud's Syndrome; and medications used for Restless Leg Syndrome ( A neurological disorder where legs develop and crawling, aching skin sensation which is relived by moving the legs).
    There are a number of things that could be causing this itch. Discuss this with your doctor to see if you can narrow down the cause and find a treatment that works.

    Peace and Blessings

    I have had this before, on my thighs. Just these random itchy bumps that seem like hives. They would keep me up at night. Hydrocortisone cream helped, but I would have to reapply throughout the night. The dr was clueless (before I saw a rheumy) and prescribed predisone, which I reacted very poorly too, but it cleared up the hives!
