Default I feel better not eating

I am having a problem keeping anything down. I feel much better if I don't eat all day. I know this is detrimental to my body with this disease. The only thing is if I do eat then I am sick and nauseated all day until I finally lose the food. I was wondering if drinking those shakes would be a trade off or should I keep trying the food.

    Hi Sick n tired,

I have had problems with nausea as well, which has in the past effected my intake of food. After many trips to the doctor and finally a stomach specialist (who excluded gastro problems) I was prescribed anti-nausea tablets. These help me a lot. Sounds like you need to let your doctor know whats happening (if you havn't already) as there may be something you could take to help with the nausea and consequently make you feel like eating again. Just a thought

Saysusie replied to one of my posts about nausea and had some great suggestions, you should check it out - it's in the "newley diagnosed' section.

I hope you feel better soon, feeling nauseous is no fun at all.
    Take care,
    Sprant

I know that you feel better when you do not eat. But, as you said, this is very, very detrimental to your body and can have devastating affects on your Lupus!
I agree with Sprant, you should discuss this with your doctor who can prescribe some anti-nausea medications to help you eat and retain your food. The shakes are a supplement to your diet, not an alternative to eating. Drinking only those shakes would also be detrimental!
I hope that you and your doctor are able to find a way for you to reduce your nausea and keep your food down so that you can eat a healthy diet!

    Peace and Blessings
