    I had the same thing a few years ago. My doctor thought it was just gas, heartburn, etc. But it definitely was NOT. I finally had an xray and it actually showed gallstones. I had surgery the next day to remove my gallbladder. No more pain.

    When I had the pain, before the gallstones, it turned out to be a hiatal hernia. I still have problems with that, but no more gallstones. Maybe you could suggest the hernia to your doctor?

    Hi Icegurl;
    A hernia is a protrusion of a tissue, structure, or part of an organ through the muscular tissue or the membrane by which it is normally contained. They are usually noticed as a lump, commonly in the groin or the umbilical region. Hernias appear when a portion of the tissue which lines the abdominal cavity (peritoneum) breaks through a weakened area of the abdominal wall.
    This can be painful and can cause discomfort as the hernia enlarges and can sometimes be dangerous if a piece of intestine becomes trapped, (strangulated') inside.
