    Default Weird Sensations in head

Does anyone get these sensations in your head like a sizzling at the crown of your head or just a weird funny, feeling? I can't hardly explain it really... anyhow, when this happens my body feels kinda paralyzed. I can move but feel frozen or stiff. This started about a yr ago and I was wondering if anyone knew what I was talking about? It is becoming more frequent and I don't like it b/c it makes me panic!

    Hi TBird!

Do you ever experience a popping or exploding sensation in your head?

I don't get them very often, but when I get that exploding sensation in my head, it's terrifying!

My Neurologist told me that I have Exploding Head Syndrome! Yes, seriously, look it up! It definitely exists! I thought that he was joking!

    Keep well!

Really! Wow that is strange to have a syndrome with that name!!!
I am feeling sick today with a strange headache with these sensations. I am also getting chills. I have been for the past 2 weeks. Is this the low grade fever that is associated with SLE?

oh i am soooo sorry for just now getting back to you!! ops: the last few days have been hectic and frazzled for me :?

ok, so neuropathy (really i should have said peripheral neuropathy) is

"Neuropathy is a disorder of the peripheral nerves—the motor, sensory and autonomic nerves that connect the spinal cord to muscles, skin and internal organs. It usually affects the hands and feet, causing weakness, numbness, tingling and pain. Neuropathy’s course is variable; it can come and go, slowly progressing over many years, or it can become severe and debilitating. However, if diagnosed early, it can often be controlled." www.neuropathy.org to check out more...

it is very commom for us folks with sle to have it and it can show up as many different sensations. you and i get the same ones. in addition to my wierd feelings in my head, i also get the most common ones - numbness and tingling in te feet and hands, as well as the feelings as if they've fallen asleep.

there's several meds out there to take that work like neruontin and lyrica. there are also a few anti depressants that work specifically on this type of pain pretty well too.

    i hope this helps
