Here is a link - do the lumps on your fingers look anything like this?
My mother and I have been concerned about something for quite a while now. I have these really weird raised lumps (I suppose that I could describe them as nodules, maybe?) on the "pads" of my fingers and toes. They are the same colour as the rest of my fingers and hands, but are quite large. Most of the lumps are the same size, but the ones on my big toes are seriously large. I wouldn't say that they were unbearably painful, but they are annoying. I have had these bumps for a very long time now; my mother has never noticed them before though, so I probably wasn't born with them and probably didn't have them when I was younger - probably not before age ten (I am sixteen at the moment). However, I know that I have had them for quite a long time now; I always thought that everybody had them and it wasn't until my mother noticed them that I realised that they were not really normal.
Nobody else I know has these bumps! :? I have shown them to my Neurologist, my Specialist Physician and my Rheumatologist, but none of them know what these bumps are! :? My Specialist Physician just told me to show my Rheumatologist, but he has no clue what they are! I have also shown my Paediatrician/Paediatric Cardiologist, but I forgot to mention to him that I have them on my toes too, so I will do this when I next see him and show them to him.
I keep forgetting to show my Dermatologist, which is highly annoying! :x
Does anyone else have these bumps or something similar? Does anyone have ANY idea what these bumps could be? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks and keep well!
Thanks very much for the link, but no, they look absolutely nothing like that. They look more like large lumps of swollen skin; almost as if the lumps contained some type of fluid, but I don't think that they do. They don't look painful or discoloured at all; a little bit red sometimes, perhaps.
Thanks and keep well!
I have the kind that I showed you in the link, so I thought it might be something similar. It sounds like you definitely need to show them to the dermatologist - I hope he can figure it out.
It sounds like what I get on the bottoms of my big toes, it is swelling/fluid from the arthritis in them.
