    Default Amazing news!

    Hey all!
I've been in an awful flare for a little while now. It all started with the passing of my beloved chinchilla, Elmer. This stress of my loss put me in a flare. But on a happier note, I have officially graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and I just received a call that I qualified and have been randomized into a clinical study for a new lupus infusion medication! I get my first infusion on Monday. The program is called the "EMBODY" program. I am beyond excited. I'm hoping that this will help relieve me of my symptoms of this flare and hopefully will turn my life around for the better!!

I'll be sure to keep you all updated!

Congratulations, Ashley Baby. What a wonderful accomplishment receiving your diploma! I have heard that the University of Pittsburgh is a great university. Too think you accomplished this with your lupus is utterly amazing.

Thank you! It definitely wasn't easy dealing with Lupus and undergrad at the same time!! Well post graduation, since i've qualified for this study, i'm going to focus on that and working at the zoo for the summer just to save up some money. In the end of summer/ fall, i'm hoping to get a job at this senior citizens home near my house while building volunteer hours at either the Children's institute or Children's hospital. Once I have enough hours, I'm hoping to become a Child Life Specialist at Childrens hopsital of Pittsburgh!

Wonderful news on both accounts Ashley. We are so very proud of you as you've been with us throughout your undergraduate studies. Your future plans/goals are quite honorable..good for you
