Default So I Missed an Exit!

Went to the harbor with a friend last weekend for lunch. I missed an exit and we had to go to the next exit and back track to the beach. My friend made a big issue out of it. My boyfriend told her that that was not unusual as I have various medical issues going on, including lupus. It's not like I drink alcohol or drive when I am on meds that have warnings about taking them and driving. I don't drink period. It just made me kind of upset! It's not like we don't have to give up a lot already with lupus. Do we have to give up driving too? I haven't had any accidents or tickets in years. Thanks for letting me vent.

Your boyfriend and friend are making a mountain out of a molehill. Anyone can miss an exit.

Please read our thread on "You know you have lupus fog if" and you will find lots and lots of stories about how we forget things, do crazy things, miss important things, etc.
Your friend should be chastised for her reaction. Whatever happened to being an understanding and supportive friend??? I'm not sure if your boyfriend's explanation was meant to be helpful or a criticism.
Regardless, I agree that their reactions were uncalled for and most importantly, YOU MUST NOT THINK LESS OF YOURSELF FOR HAVING DONE THIS SIMPLE THING!!! So many of us have done so much worse and we all MUST find a way to laugh at ourselves. These things do not diminish us as human beings, nor do they have any bearing on our intelligence! Remember that!
I wish you the very best.

    Peace and Blessings
