    Default Help with sun rash!!!

Hi, I'm dx'd with UCTD. Went out in the sun last weekend (with 30 sunblock) and am now covered in a red, bumpy, extremely itchy rash especially on my legs and arms. Feels like pins pricking me at first. Then i felt like someone pulled the plug on me...tired, achey. Told my rheumy and he advised to increase my pred for 4-5 days. The last 2 days I have been on the increased dose and I'm still itchy and still have the rash. It seems to be lightening up in appearance but I'm still so itchy. Is this normal? What do you all do for the sun rash?

Did you try putting on some lotion? I'm finding that the sun in Florida is drying out my skin, making it itchy

    This is normal for me.
I use Gold Bond anti-itch lotion-sometimes Benedryl helps but it puts me to sleep.
Oatmeal baths when it is real bad and I sometimes wear socks and cotton gloves to bed as I tend to scratch in my sleep

    Good Luck!
    Niall
