Default Tell me about your upper endoscopy

Hi, y'all. So, I keep gaining new, weird symptoms without getting a magic symptom that will finally reveal the identity of whatever my autoimmune disease is. The latest is some reflux and/or esophageal motility issue. So, I'm scheduled for an upper endoscopy, which I know is a common procedure, but it also makes me nervous. I am going to be under "conscious sedation" -- a mix of Versed and Fentanyl, I think -- during the procedure. For anyone who has had an upper endoscopy with conscious sedation, what was your experience? Was there any real recovery time, or were you good as new when the drugs wore off?

Thanks in advance for your help. I like going into these things well-prepared.

Easy as pie. I went and had lunch right after. Good drugs though. LOL Make sure someone drives you!

I've had like 3 of them (even more from the other end), and neither is of much worry. I've slept through all of mine. Like Mari, I've eaten lunch right after my procedures.
