    Default Pneumonia shot?

I've had my flu shot. I currently have double pneumonia. When this all clears up, should I get the pneumonia shot? Your thoughts and experiences please!

Neither shot stays in me for long with my CVID. I might be "protected" for a few weeks, then it's gone, due to my reduced immune system. Similar might be true with a patient doing immuno-suppressant medications, I don't know. Definitely talk with your doctor about it, and NOT just the pcp, but the rheumy and/or any other specialist you might have, such as pulmonologist. You're liable to get a different opinion from each of them though. They used the pneumonia shot to partially diagnose my CVID, in that the "immunity" acquired from the body building the resistance to the dead virus goes away much faster in a CVID patient, and I had no sign of even having had a shot after less than 3 weeks.

remember that there are 2 types of flu shots......
one with a live vaccine... one with a dead vaccine.

as a lupus patient we should never take a live vaccine.
talk to your doctor about this.
