    Default Hair Loss....

Soooo I have notice some hair loss, which I believe the Lupus is the issue. Anyway I was hoping that taking the plaquenil would help and maybe help my hair grow back. But that isn't really working. Is there anything that you can do to help your hair grow back?

How long have you been on the plaq and are you currently in a flare?

I have been on the plaq for almost a year... i'm not really in a huge flare right now. Like one random joint has swelled like every day. And I have had a little more fatigue then normal. So maybe a small flare.... I am starting to think the hair loss could have something to do with my birth control too. I am going to see my doctor soon and I am going to see if she can put me on a mini-pill. It only has one hormone and is better for you if you already have a clotting issue. It is just embarrassing to have your hair thinning on your scalp at 25 yoa. I am not even wanting my hair to get super thick i just want it to be full again.

I will have to talk to my doctor about what supplements I can take. I get really paranoid about taking things just because I have so many things wrong with me already and who knows if something will trigger anything. I will have to look into biotin.

I mention this alot, but has your thyroid been checked lately? A change in thyroid levels (up or down) can make your hair thin erratically also...

I take a vitamin called Super Biotin. It's good for your hair, skin and nails! I lost majority of my hair when I first got sick and now its finally long and healthy again! Wish you the best of luck!

I'm going to have to try this Biotin now, after my first major hair loss it never really grew back to it's original awesomeness. But I know that my hair breaks so easy especially the sicker I am and the more stressed I am.
