Hi, I use to have reoccuring Pericarditis like you, so my doctor put me on colchicine and I still taking prednisone! Eventually he just took me off of colchicine and now I'm just taking prednisone. I know when you lower the dosage of prednisone and then have severe inflammation around your sac (that causes the chest pain) and then you have to up the dosage again, it's draining! Don't worry you'll get through it! I know I did...Have your doctor ever talked to you about letting them actually get a needle to drain the fluid out of your heart? They never tired that with me, but you should consider it.
