Hi everyone. Well i have been trying to get a diagnosis for approx. 1 year. Following a post op infection for an unrelated surgery i developed ankle and pedal edema with redness and the inability to walk on them for approx. 3 days. Further tests showed an extemely high ESR, low hgb.,and renal failure. The fatigue i have is unbelievable i feel so lazy, but somedays I cant get out of bed until 2 in the afternoon. I work fulltime on my feet which is also becoming more challanging. My hips are sore and various other joints. All the blood work comes back pointing to lupus, but i have been waiting for a specialist appt. for 8 months and counting. I guess i just dont want to feel so alone anymore and would like to know if anyone has renal failure with their symptoms and what is being done for them. My MD only said there are three options
    1. Renal dyalisis
    2. Perineal dyalisis
    3. Kidney transplant
I am a very otherwise healthy 55 year old woman. Not very ecouraging

    hi linda,
i am lucky not to have renal failure.

but i did want to welcome you still.
please remember there is actually not test to confirm lupus.
lupus is confirmed by ruling out other possabilities,
and then working with your symptoms.
we have a thread about the diagnosis requiremnents
    http://forum.wehavelupus.com/showthr...upus-Diagnosis

due to your severity of symptoms.....
are you on the rhuemy's waiting / emergency list?

    Hi Linda55:
Welcome to our family. I have not had any renal complications with my Lupus, so I am unable to help you in that area. I know that some of our members have dealt with this and, hopefully, will respond to your post. I just wanted to make sure that I welcomed you and to let you know that you are definitely not alone! Although many of us may not share your exact symptoms, we are here to help you as much as we can.
I wish you the very best!

    Peace and Blessings
    Namaste
