    Default Hello

Hello, my name is Kely and I was diagnosed with lupus in September. This past May (2012) I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After getting a second opinion, I found I actually have Lupus and not RA. I am just trying to figure this all out and find the right treatment. I am 30 and I am very happy to have found this forum! I look forward to learning more about what it means to have Lupus and to hear from other people in the same boat as me!

Hi Kely, and welcome to the WHL forum, glad you found us. Be sure and look around, read some "stickies" and other posts, etc. Do you have a good rheumatologist?

    hi kelly.
one thing to remember when doctors are diagnosing auto immune "stuff".

there is no actual test to confirm a diagnosis, for most immune problems.
doctors usually need to run tests, to rule out things.
what is left after that is guess work, and reading your symptoms.

unfortunatelly science cannot find answers for us all the time.
our body is far to complex and unpredictable.

    Welcome aboard!

You've found a supportive and educated group of fellow lupies!

No question is a stupid one, especially when you're a newbie.

    Hi Kely,
    Welcome to WHL.
Many of us get more than one diagnosis. It's possible to have more than one autoimmune disease - it seems that if you have one, it likes to invite its friends.
    Hugs,
    Marla
