    Hey guys!
Thanks for all of the caring comments.
I was sort of in shock on Sunday and spent most of the day on the couch. I was better on Monday and even managed to drive myself to a doctor appointment and to a Spouses' Club board meeting.
I saw a new PCP! The one who told me that I'm a hypochondriac left the practice - YAY! The new one is young, but not bad. She took lots of notes and seems willing to help. She gave me a prescription for diazepam for the spasms and to help me sleep. When I looked online, I learned that this is Valium. I had a not-too-great experience with that years ago, so I'm nervous about trying it. Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with it?

I've felt pretty normal today - walked with the dog, cleaned the upholstery on the couch, cooked a nice meal and went with Jeff to the observatory at the university down the road to see Venus crossing the sun. That was pretty cool - Jeff says that it won't happen again for another 100 years.
So now I'm being a slug on the couch for the evening.

Here's hoping that tomorrow is a good day for me and for all of you.
    Hugs,
    Marla

    Hi Marla,

I am so glad, that you have bounced back, from this aweful fall.
You are a tough lady, you get knocked down and you just get back up. I am the same way, there isn't much that could keep me down.
I hope the new meds will prevent your muscles from spasms, so this will not happen again.

I may have been dealt a bad hand, but at least I'm still playing with a full deck. ( most of the time anyway).

    Hi Marla,

I'm glad you are feeling better. I have always been a bit of a clutz, but as I get older it has become more and more difficult to bounce back. Take care and thank you for sharing.

Glad you are feeling better. And even happier that your fall wasn't worse. Hope you can get some answers in July. Gentle hugs!

I'm a bit worried to even fill that prescription. I read a horror story about it over on the Spastic Paraplegia group. One member there said that at 2mg per day, it barely helped; at 4 mg per day, she had less pain but was depressed; at 6 mg per day, the pain was gone, but she was planning her suicide.
As sensitive as I am to meds, that scares me!
Jeff and I both think that I'll be better to wait until I see the SP specialist in July.
    Hugs,
    Marla
