    Default New and hopeful

Just wanted to introduce myself! My name is Eliasson and I'm SO happy to have found this forum. I'm a 46 year old mom of 4, and have been very sick for about 4 years. I was diagnosed with SLE in 2007. Really, I have been in one continuous bad flare for so long, with intermittent periods of feeling just a little better. Last week I had some form of Central Nervous System attack, all I remember is sharp pain in my head and then 2 days are just basically erased from my memory. I know I was taken to the hospital, but that's about it. It scares me so much. I have been very depressed about my lack of quality of life, and lupus seems like such a hard disease for others to understand, so I'm feeling very alone. Really happy to have found y'all and am looking forward to getting to know the people here. Thank you!

    Hi Eliasson,

Welcome, I'm a newbie too. Not an official diagnosis but I do have a positive ana with history of symptoms like lupus, so I'm hoping for a diagnosis when I see the rheumy next week.

Welcome, and let's keep in touch and support one another.

    Hi Eliasson,
I also commented on another thread, but welcome again!
I'm a 54 year old Mom of 5, so I really know what your life is like. I'm lucky that mine are all adults now. Are you still dealing with teens?
I still had a couple of teens at home and I was teaching teens when I was diagnosed. Their drama and my illness were not a good mix!
I'm glad that you found us, and I'm always willing to chat.
    Hugs,
    Marla
