Question Chest pain and difficulty breathing

    Hi guys,
Just wondering who else have been suffering from chest pains and difficulty breathing? My sister suffered from it every night and her rheumy just increased her steroids dosage. Hope that will help but just wanna know the causes of chest pain and breathing issues? is it lupus flaring or organ involvement most of the time?

    Lupiebro,

    For my sister.

there is many reasons for chest pain.

being newly diagnosed, and the doctor increasing pred ........
    i presume it is inflamation.

    let me explain it ..

any muscle can become inflamed and hold extra fluid.
(even when stabalised i am holding about 4 or 5 kg of fluid).
your chest is encased by a few very big muscles.

when these muscles are enlaged, they start to crush up onto your lungs, and heart etc.
to work these muscles hard is then painful.

i know this is what happenned in my case.
it may / may not be the same for your sister.

this site reccommends that whenever chest pain is concerned seek medical advice.
your sister has done that - good.
my comments are to help you and her understand.

it may be fore another reason all together.
but it sounds similar to what i had.
and this is my rhuemy's explaination to me.

Thanks alot for the answer steve bryce. Her rheumy did not really give a distinct answer, infact he just increased her prednisolone dosage for a month. Hopefully it will help to relief some of her pain. Will further update over her once she let me know her condition.
