they showed a positive ana so my dr is dx me with sle.. i start on prednisone 40 mg tomorrow. im going to try and find a rumatologist (sp?) that will take my insurance. i may also try methotrextate too. idk, just kinda numb at the moment. my a/g ratio came back low, which may indicate kidney disease..

    Lisa,
You are very lucky to have a doc who is proactive and is starting to treat you right away. Please read through the threads here and the stickys - it will help for you to be armed with as much information as possible.

    Hi Lisa,

There must be some other things that your Dr. saw (either in symptoms or blood tests) to make the SLE diagnosis since a positive ANA is not enough. You are VERY lucky that you have a good one that is starting you on meds! Many people have to wait months or years to get someone to do that. Please take care of yourself and keep us posted as you travel down this new path
