I've found that my ophthalmologist seems to be much more knowledgeable about Plaquenil and its effects than the GP (who knows nothing) or the rheumy (who won't take the time to talk with me). The ophthalmologist calmly tries to answer all of my questions or offers to look into any new research for me. He's a gem!

    Tanya,
If I try to take more than 1 pill per day, I have the same reactions that you have. However, my body has adjusted nicely to that one pill per day, so I'm happy with it.
    Hugs,
    Marla

I had double vision etc before starting plaquenil which I assume was a result from the lupus or possible undiag MS which is being looked into now. So to my understanding some eye probs can be lupus, but that doesn't say to stop taking appropriate action if you have eye probs on plaquenil. Good luck! Let us know how you go.

I remember years ago, when I started taking Plaquenil, that it made me dizzy and sick feeling. The doctor said to try taking it all at night. That was a weird experience! As I was dozing off and the medication kicked in, I would get a blast of colors in my mind and it would wake me with a huge startle! Not a good idea to take it all at once! I did finally get used to taking it and now am off of it as of this week. A little worried my symptoms will return!
