    Default Finally diagnosed!

After 2 years of countless doctor visits and no meds being described, my rhem yesterday diagnosed me with SLE and Sjrogens and finally put me on plaquenil so now I'll wait a few months and see if it works!

i am happy that you have a name for all of your medical problems.
it is a relief to know it is real.

now the fun begins trying to find the right mix of medications.

Congratulations on getting diagnoses. Here's to hoping that the plaquenil works for you & you can get things under control w/out having to go on anything else!

Congrats a little warning. I was slack and often in the first two weeks had my tablets about an hour after a meal and I got really bad stomach morning sickness like troubles. But as soon as I took plaquenil with food as it is advised all was fine. This was only last nov 2011.

    Hope this helps!

    Gkf,
If your eyes and mouth are dry, your doc should be treating your Sjogren's symptoms, too. I'm taking Restasis for my dry eyes, and Pilocarpine for my dry mouth.

Marla, I do take restasis, I have been taking it for about a year, It's taken me almost 3 years to get a diagnosis, my ANA always comes back negative, so I was told I have negative ANA lupus, I am 43 years and have had symptoms all my life about 3 years ago I got a rash on my face that would not go away a derm did a biopsy and told me it was tumid lupus, I had no idea what lupus was, after a visit to my pcp after the derm he started to ask me questions like do I feel fatigued, do my joints hurt etc... and almost all the things he asked me I said yes, but I did construction work all my life and thought it was my job that was causing all this, in 1991 I was diagnosed with stage 3 hodgkins disease I went through almost 2 years of chemo for that, in sept of 2010 I had a heart attack and had to have stents put in, It's taken 3 rhem's to get the diagnosis, the first one I went to was the worst, she did joint x-rays told me I had arthritis and to stay out of the sun still my bloodwork came back negative, she never had me comeback for a follow up the second wasn't much better, the one I see now is great. so she gave me the plaquenil took more blood work, will get those results back in a couple of weeks and see her again in 3 months to see if the meds are working, so we will see!
