Smile Hello my name is Peggy :)

Hello, I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2007.. i have been on steroids and Plaquenil since diagnosis... gradually going off the steroids.. down to only 2 1/2 mgs a day and 200 mg for plaquenil.. I am just recently married and looking into starting a family. My doctor told me it is my decision if i want to stay on plaquenil during pregnancy. Anyone have an info on it? makes me a little nervous to stay on? any suggestions on getting off it? the doctor said to just stop taking it, but that makes me a little nervous. Any advice would help!
    Thanks,

    Peggy

    Hi Peggy,

Welcome to the WHL family. I'm sure someone here has information on Lupus and pregnancy, I recall a few posts. I can't help you with that. Just wanted to say "hi".

    Hi Peggy,
Welcome to WHL. We have a few young ladies here who have recently had successful pregnancies. I think that a couple of them have had experience with taking Plquenil during pregnancy. Hopefully, one of them will be along to answer you.
    Hugs,

Wecome Peggy. It must be both exciting and nervous as you think about starting a family.

I am sure you have already asked your doctor about the positives and negatives about being on Plaquenil while pregnant. There are so many things to think about when you have Lupus, and it is so good that you are making informed decisions. Let us know what decision you have made.

Hi Peggy! There are several members that had babies after diagnosis and had to make the meds choice. I am sure they will be around soon.

    Welcome to WHL!
