hey there marla, hope you are doing well. I never really left whl, I've just been sitting back on the sidelines watching for a while. Not really been feeling all that good. finally got off the prednisone, it didn't take but about month and I'm right back where I started at the beginning. That being said I have more bad days than good days.

    Jim,
I'm sorry to hear that. I don't remember - have they tried you on Plaquenil and/or MTX or anything like Imuran?
Perhaps that new rheumy will come up with something other than prednisone for you.
Take care of yourself, my friend.
    Hugs,
    Marla

yea, we have tried all of it with no positive results. Rheumy wanted to try the new lupus drug( the name escapes me, fog? haha ) however the insurance company denied it. glad the ins. co. knows more about medicine than the doctors, wow, sounds like I'm starting to get frustrated, down boy:~} I've been on generic plaquinel from the start, if it has ever done anything for me I don't know it. I will say one thing since getting off the prednisone I can feel all the pain in my body that it was hiding or whatever it was doing.

Yes, insurance companies are a pain. Try the new rheumy and ask him/her to write a stronly worded letter to them - maybe it will work.

Yeah Jim, they probably haven't added it to their "approved list" yet. The insurance company probably just needs a bit of prodding from doctors and the pharmy company, along with a polite, concise letter from a patient... 'course, if you're like me, you might have a bit of trouble coming up with "polite" words... tic
