I'm so excited (dance, dance, dance!)
I saw the new rheumy this morning (referred to by my pain mgmt/neuro) and I adore her! I am truly so excited! My history is so long and complicated and she showed none of the "usual" impatience at having to wade through it all. She asked intelligent questions about my current condition, posed intelligent questions (about aspects of my care/health that my current rheumy has never addressed) and said she was willing to give me a second opinion even if I didn't switch to her as my rheumy. And best of all.....I LOVE this quote.....we were talking about lab tests and meds and I told her that my rheumy had taken me off of Lovenox due to a drop in my antigen values and how I was concerned since Dr. Hughes (APS is named after him) said that he never does that. And she said:
I don't treat lab results - I treat the person.
Oh my gosh! No longer will I have to justify the fact that I feel like crap even when my labs don't reflect a reason for it.
I haven't been this happy in months!
Just wanted to share my news and if anyone is in my area (southern MS or LA) I'll be happy to give you her name!
Hope everyone is having a good day!
Love to you all, Robin
Awesome news Robin.
"I don't treat lab results - I treat the person" She sounds like a keeper to me.
All the best. Enjoy your day!

I want her Robin!! Congrats!
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Robin: Can we all get appointments with her? Wouldn't it be great if we all got treated by our symptoms and not our bloodwork?

She sounds exactly like the one that I had in San Antonio. Unfortunately, I moved, so now I have a rotten rheumy.
You've got a keeper - congratulations!

Thanks everyone for your shared joy in my new rheumy! What a wonderful place this is that you all understand how utterly awesome this is for me and rejoice with me. I've told a couple of my "normal" friends about my new doc and while they say "that's great" they don't really get it; one thought my joy was due to the Keppra making me overly happy, lol.
We're heading into the weekend and I hope it's going to be a wonderful one for everyone!
That is excellent news! I'm so glad you got a winner! And I hope she remains your rheumy for a long, long time!
