    Default Update!!!

    Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven’t been on much in the last month, I’m going through a frustrating stage and I’m struggling to keep up with work, doctors and family ! So I thought I give you guys a quick update! My lovely specialist student! *arrrg don’t even get me started on how I got stuck with her* is telling me that Lupus is just an auto immune disease and that I don’t suffer flare ups………………… She says when my joints are swollen or my body aches it’s not lupus and that all that lupus is an auto deficient in my immune system that wouldn’t affect me physically and that I associate my problems to lupus (headaches/ being tired & etc…) too much and have to start addressing the real issue is myself as it’s in my head! So as you can tell I’m beyond frustrated and pissed off……………
As For work no sick days for 2 months yipppeee aside from 1 last week =( and well family is family haha

I will post another update soon!!! Miss you guys!!! Hope all is well!!!

    remember some people are ignorant.
the worst type are ones who refuse to listen.

i am sure many of us would have a few suggestions on how to treat this person.
rob has a few commical methods i can think of.

really there stupidity is not excuse... ignore her.
or treat her with the contemp she deserves.

    Hi Panda,
How "stuck" are you with this incompetent person? When doctors start saying "it's all in your head" what they really mean is "there is nothing in my head so I'm going to blame you." If I were truly stuck with the student you have, I would take in The Lupus Book, by Daniel Wallace MD, or print out some stuff from The Lupus Foundation or the American College of Rheumatology. Since you are being treated by a student, that student must have several layers of supervisors. I would make sure at least a couple of them hear what the student's version of lupus is. Maybe she learned it from them, but hopefully not... Finally, I would do whatever it takes to get a honest-to-goodness-have-my-diploma physician or nurse practitioner. In the US we would "fire" a bad provider, but I don't know what your options are in Canada.

Well, I can't say it any better than what has been said. Apparently, there is a reason why this person is still a "Student" ..because she doesn't know enough about anything!
I agree; you have two options: Educate her or get rid of her. If she had gone past the first paragraph of the first page of the first article that she read about Lupus, she would not have made such ignorant statements. She is woefully uneducated and should not be allowed to see patients!
I do hope that you are able to find someone who knows what they are talking about or who, at least, are willing to learn.
I am glad to hear that you have not had to miss a lot of work..that is really good news. I hope that this run of good days continues
