    That is a difficult question because Lupus is mostly a disease of exclusion of other illnesses and there is not a single test that means "I have Lupus". I am going to give you a link from a "sticky" in another part of the forum and it gives will give a much better idea of how Lupus is diagnosed. There are some tests that are often used such as ANA, double stranded DNA(often referred to as anti-dna and anti ro just to name a few.

    It takes more then positive (or negative) blood work to declare a Lupus diagnosis. It is a combination of blood tests and symptoms that are used in determining if Lupus is the problem. I am going to post the thread below but please note that it says only 4 criteria have to be reached to make that diagnosis as long as all other diseases have been ruled out.
