PT helps me, the cold/ hot treatments helped with the muscle spasms, I also had one PT who sent a very mild electrical current through the muscles to relax them. Low blood calcium also causes muscle spasms. So maybe you aren't lime Aunt Erma. Good Luck in whatever you decide

i was checking into what is considered pt.

i use a tenns machine at home.
i use the machine for feet, gloves for hands and pads for knees back and shoulders.
i believe it works well for me.
i get good relief from it.

    Nonna,
I've had that mild electrical shock thing when I did PT last year - in fact I still have the Tenns unit. It didn't do a thing for me.
I like the heat/cold treatments, too. Just like the massage, it helps for a while and then my muscles just tense right up again - sigh....
My bloodwork shows normal on the calcium, along with everything else.
    I'm just a spastic person!
    Hugs,
    Marla

I'll throw the obvious question out there, which I'm sure I already know the answer to: have you tried muscle relaxants or valium?
