    Default facial hairloss

    hey guys,

i'm sure i'm not the only one experiencing loss of brows and lashes. i'm having sle!

how do you guys deal with it and most important: DO THEY GROW BACK? i didn't pluck my brows for months, as i lose them (in "eyebrow flares", not all the time, an not those days i feel very bad because of the lupus. it's something independet)

did you talk to a dermy or did you try creams, lotions (maybe with steroids to reduce the inflamations)? ? ?

would love to her some of your experiences, i'm super sad about the loss :-/

I have had alopecia over the years, loosing patches of my hair on my head. I cannot remember what sort of cream I used, as it was many years ago.

There is someting that is really bothers me, and thanks for Steve for being a catalyst for this thought.

WHy one Earth don't we ever loose our leg hairs???????????

For goodness sake Lupus, why don't you just make one symptom to our advantage? It would be really nice if you would make our leg hairs fall out so we don't have to put our joints under stress to shave our legs. You know life really is very unfair at times!!!!!

    Love it!

Lenali - I do have some thinning of my eyebrows at times. Fortunately for me I have thick eyebrows so nobody really notices except for me.

Same here Red. Nobody has noticed it except me. I also lose them in flares!!! I mean eyebrowflares...even if my Lupus is kind of quite! Some weeks ago I lost like 30 hairs in every brow. But I'm not sure if they every grew back.
How is it in your case? Do you notice some regrowth?

Hi Lenali! Welcome to WHL. As you can see we have a wonderful (and sometimes silly) group of people that are wonderful helpful! Sometimes the best thing for us is to be able to laugh.

I don't have the facial hair loss but I do have hair loss and scalp pain or hair root pain. That is actually the way that I know I am going into a flare. My scalp starts hurting before the other symptoms start. Some of the hair loss has been helped by the plaquenil. It took it awhile but it did help for a long time

One of the few symptoms I haven't experienced is hair loss. Since starting menopause, I've had just the opposite effect which is wonderful only in the respect that my hair has always been plentiful, yet super fine. It is now thickening up a bit. My body hair is blonde to the point of being invisible. If I don't use eyebrow pencil, you can't tell I actually have any. That invisibility comes in handy elsewhere, but I find I look quite odd without eyebrows so I pencil them in. I've tried having them dyed, which works for some people and works great on the hair on my head, but washes right out of my eyebrows. So maybe the effects of menopause in this case are counteracting the effects of lupus.
