I was shopping at Target today and browsed thru the Sunscreens to see what's available and guess what I found?
A Sunblock that's 100+
Yep, you read right....
The brand is Neutrogena, Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 100+, with Helioplex, recommended by the American Cancer Society.
I was looking at the numbers and found the usual Banana Boat 50...then found a 75...then to my amazement an 85...then my eyes landed on this one....100+
I am duly impressed. Bought a bottle for $10.99 and I might get a chance to try it out this weekend....we're expecting 85 degree temps on Sunday. Woo Hoo! :veryhappy:
I'll try it and report back my findings.
Just thought I'd share my incredible find. Seems like each summer they keep coming out with better and better choices....lucky for us Lupies.
Well either your extreamly bored, or need to get out?
either way i think you should find a new hobby :)
The dermatologist gave me a prescription for sun sence, do u get it over there? they use it in australia, .......hmm whatever trevor!
i use it, its like 50+ or summin like tht, but i need to remember not to go as soon as ive applied it as it makes you look like uve dipped ya face in a tub of cream :)
hava good day rasta
What do ya mean....I do get out....I do have a hobby....
SHOPPING AT TARGET! Didn't you read my post? :)
And I'm damn good at it too! :lmao:
Rasta too funny!!!
I found the Banana boat one that was 85+. It is a clear spray. I wish I had seen the Neutragena one. I may get that. My skin is so sensitive I burn in the shade. Last year I broke out in a rash allover my back and arms all because I sat on the porch in the shade for 15 minutes. I am a bit anxious about that happening again.
LOL LOri!! YOu make me laugh EVERY TIME!!!!!!!
Okay...so it's supposed to be beautiful, sunny, 85 degrees on Sunday here in good ole' Portland, Oregon and I was all excited to go try out my fancy new Sunblock, the one that says I can stay out 100+ times longer than anyone else (just joking about that). But tonight on the local news they shared that this might not be such a good idea....our UV index is going to be a 9 on Sunday!!
Whatever the heck that means. They seemed to be very concerned on the news about any of us fair skinned, Portland pantywaists heading out into the outdoors. If we're not supposed to be out there, then why even bother selling us the crazy sunblock in this state in the first place?
I think I smell a scam here? *she sniffs here and there*

Rasta :cool2: throwing it back your way, Jane...
ok folks, now we know who is our expert Target shopper. You are one of the funniest people i have had the pleasure of knowing.
thanks for the info., i will make a trip to my local target in search for 100 proof sunblock.
why didn't you go shopping before i made my trip to the coast? This is the story of my life "a dollar short and a day late".
*Takes a bow*
fair-skinned, Portland pantywaist here!
lol... loved that... although I don't have a pale, soft porcelain complexion unfortunately (I'd just about pay money for that), picture a little pink piglet, yep my skin is always pink. It can't even be considered 'rosy', nope there's nothing real appealling about my pinkness. oops, I wasn't writing to rant.
Thanks for the info on the 100+. Like everyone else, I'm always looking for the latest greatest but I'm real particular about smell, consistancy and that type of thing. Does it smell sunblocky? I'm that person that stands at the sunblock display smelling the ones that I can.
Stay cool! I had to alter my plans for the weekend when I heard we were in for warm temps. Next week I am going on the hunt for a hat for the summer. Did you see any at Target? hahaha!

I forgot to check out the scent before I bought it, so was happy to find that it smelled better than any I've tried. And it's creamy, but really thick...not runny. So it went on nice, more like a body lotion. I was a little bit greasy at first, but it soaked in pretty quick. I hate the real liquidy ones that never seem to soak in and attract dirt and yuck on your skin. It says you only have to apply it 15 minutes before sun exposure and I like that. I always seem to forget to put my sunscreen on 30 minutes before like most of them say. Then I end up having to wait to go out.
I worked in my front yard cleaning up a flower bed area for about 3 hours today, but most of the first 2 hours were under the tree that's over the flower beds. So it was a little filtered sun on me. Then I grabbed a lawn chair and sat, in the sun, in the driveway keeping my husband company while he changed the brake pads on my truck. I sat there for about 45 minutes and drank a beer as a reward for all my hard weed pulling. :friday: And I am happy to announce that I sit here tonight with no trace of pink sunburn at all. I seem to have tolerated the sun really well with this sunblock. And you know what, it left my skin soft and moisturized and there's no trace of the scent left on me.
My verdict: The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock, SPF 100+ gets an A+ ...
Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow...hope you find a cool spot to hang out.
:cool2: <<<<<<< Lori
p.s. Target had lots of cute sun hats...in fact, they had all kinds of cute hats. I really need to go back. :veryhappy:
