Hello, my name is Michele - friends call me Chele. I am struggling with multiple problems that may or may not be Lupus. I need help. I am looking for a good Lupus doctor in the Baltimore area. I have a rheumatologist; however, I do not feel that she is taking my symptoms seriously. She is treating me for Fibromyalgia and seems to disregard my other symptoms. Any suggestions?
Hello and welcome to our family!
I would suggest that you learn as much as you can about the disease, its treatments, its symptoms, its medications, and how it affects you personally. You can read the stickys at the top of each forum, they are filled with great information and advice. Also, check out the LUPUS FOUNDATION'S website which is filled with great infomation. Once you become educated about the disease and how it affects you, you can then educate you rheumatologist and insist that she listen to you, believe you, and provide appropriate care and treatment. Become your own health advocate and demand adequate care.
We are here to help you as much as we can for as long as you need us. I wish you the very best.
Peace and Blessings
