  3. You're welcome might even find you will quit sooner. I forgot too...when I quit I kept an unopened pack of cigarettes in the freezer. They were my just in case because when I attempted before and had no stash I craved them more and drove in the night to the store and went nuts, smoked, and smoked that 20 minute drive home.

    But with that stash in the freezer it made me realize really how little value they were and I didn't need it. I would open up the freezer and say made me feel like I had a choice and wasn't forcing ti upon myself...try that on your next quit day..

  4. It happens Karen....don't beat yourself up about it. When we quit we just have to find other substitutes for dealing with stress. You'll find out what works for you...Love and hugs too...Oluwa
  5. Day two, Woohoo. Tomorrow will be three!

    When you quit smoking it does make you tired..stretch reach for the sky to keep the blood oxygenated.

    Having Lupus and quitting I am sure it is making you more tired, eh? All this will pass. I was a puffer for over 20 years. I've been cloud free for 7 years.

    My saving was deep breaths. Hold and exhale through your nose and saying Cripes I need a cigarette out loud. Seemed silly after awhile to want something so stinky.

    Remember the withdrawals will pass. There is an end to it. You will feel so much better. Before you know it you will say, I can't believe I smoked.

    Think of the reasons why you want to quit. Think of it in the gross, icky dirty terms instead of the 'relaxing' effects. Smoking, all we are doing is taking deep breaths. Keep doing it without the smoke. Breathe. OXOX
  6. July 16 is a good day to quit. My brother's 40 birth date. You can do it...keep focused. And with each craving, deep breaths and it will pass, Karen.

    Hows home, Erik, Olivia...? Planning a trip soon?

    So whacha been doing? Me? Oh , my life is so boring...I want it to pick up. I have scheduled an appointment with a new Rheumba..hopefully she will be able to help me find some normalcy, something resembling my former life. I so need to be more active...but the know how it the life out of us.

    I am a work in progress...What I am is not what it will be.

    Oh, that is cool compared to our 35- is the temperature of our pool.

    So, whacha got growing in your garden? Vegetables? Flowers? I gave up on the veggie items..well except Basil for my tomato salads.

    Oh, Karen don't be ashamed you started to puff again. It takes a few, sometimes quite a few attempts to stop. It took me several attempts to lose the 'old friend' who calms us down, keep us company while we wait...warrants our extra breaks while cleaning, working....It'll come. Set another day and get psyche as the day nears....

    How is your right eye? Will the sight loss return at all?

    Do you crave the nicotine of the cigarette or just miss the habit of puffing? It does take a spell to rid oneself of the habit but you have to keep nagging yourself and find things to do with your hands. Also take deep breaths and hold it in and slowly exhale through your nose till the desire to puff stops...

    Have you been under alot of stress lately? How is retirement? Quilting still? Swimming lessons once a week.

    I've been swimming alot, well, in between the rain. Managing to get about 5 swims a week in. We just painted out living room. What a task..the ceiling is so high, about 6.5 meters.

    Just living the life of leisure. I think this afternoon I will make a pound cake with fresh strawberries and raspberries to top. You like to bake?

    I never heard of those types of cigs. Are they satisfying?
