How is everything going? Are you getting settled in since the big move? Glad to hear your new Rheumo shows promise.
Thanks, and I love that one of the Great Wall, too.It looks like something you would see in a textbook. She sent the same kind of pics back from Machu Pichu in Peru. She's pretty good with a camera.
The eclipse is coming up. I'll put her last e-mail on the thread.
Please upload some pics that Jordan brings back from Japan! Then we can all share in his experience, too.
Marla....thanks for sharing the pics of Heather's China trip. They were so fun to see. I absolutely love the one's of the Great Wall! Keep forgetting to ask....Have they already seen the eclipse they went to see? Lori
I'm thinking that I might do a bit of subbing out there, just to check out the schools. I'm also thinking about taking a class in Italian while we're there. I've told Jeff that when he graduates, we're heading for Italy for a few weeks.
Check in with me when you decide to go to Monterey. I've been to that aquarium, and it is awesome. My grandson can't wait to come visit us so that he can see it.
So Marla...are you planning to get a teaching job in Monterey?? or enjoy a life of leisure for awhile? My husband races cars and he's been wanting to try out the Laguna Seca track, so we may be heading down that way, maybe next summer. I've always wanted to see Monterey...friends took their young daughter to the Aquarium there and said it was amazing. If we ever head down that way, perhaps we'll get a chance to meet. Lori
The pic is my "school picture" from a couple of years ago. Just a crazy middle-aged teacher/Mom/Grandma!
Right now, I'm enjoying some time with my 10 yr old grandson, David. I take him to swim team practice every morning. Then, we spend some time together. I'm teaching him a bit of Latin this summer.
We are slowly cleaning out the house which we've lived in for 17 years. We're getting rid of a lot, deciding what to put in storage, and what to have ready for the movers to pack. We're going to leave things like china and antiques in storage, since we'll be back in 3 years. We'll live like a couple of college students for a while!
Our son left behind an almost unused mountain bike, so Grandpa lowered the seat, and I bought David a helmet today. Now he can go riding with his Grandpa and we're giving him a great birthday present that also helps clean out the garage.
Is that you in your avatar. You're beautiful....I have a large screen PC, so it is bigger than a postage stamp..Oh you'll love the cooler air...barometric pressure doesn't vary as much as in the south...easier on the joints I hear. Maybe that is why when I moved south, so did my health more so...Enjoy the summer, rest, pack and sort leisurely till September...More hugs and love...Oluwa
It did feel pretty sad to clean out the classroom that I've been "living" in for the past seven years. I helped to open that school, so I started the Latin program there. They have hired a nice man to replace me, so I know the program is in good hands - I just feel a bit wistful.
I am VERY anxious to start being a beach bum in California. I'm hoping that the cooler weather, the sea breezes and the lack of stress will improve my health.
Thanks for the love and hugs,
Weird is good, eh? As long as it doesn't feel bad...I am so excited for you. With all that packing and etc...enjoy the time too. Love and hugs, Oluwa
Rastagirl was here!
