    Hi Rob,
Glad you had fun! We had a mostly slow weekend. Jeff studied a lot. We had an adventure trying to get a new battery for Jeff's watch. We wound up driving to Salinas. That was really sort of fun, since now I know my way around there a bit. We also found a decent Tex-Mex restaurant there, so that made it a great day!
Next weekend is my B-day, and there is a huge Greek festival on Fisherman's wharf. Of course, that's where I want to go!
    Have a great week.
    Hugs,
    Marla

    Hi Marla,

We didn't see any whales, but we got to see plenty of sharks break the surface, and we spotted a couple of bald eagles. The weather and prevailing winds were perfect, and we got to do some fun high speed sailing. I love it when you unfurl the sail and feel the boat start to lean over as the wind starts you moving. We had the boat nearly 20 degrees off of level and managed to hit 35 knots at one point. Mom and Dad came along and the four of us had a good day. Today, I'm pooped, but I didn't get burned! Very cool. How was your weekend?

    Hi Sandy,
You are the first person from WHL to find me on FB. Send me a "friend" request. If you need my e-mail, let me know and I'll PM you.
I got onto FB so that I could keep up with my kids and grandkids. Before I knew it, I was hearing from old friends from high school and
from my "kids" that I used to teach. One of my former students writes to me from Afghanistan.
I'm enjoying keeping up with everyone. (And my life has been much cooler than my HS classmates lives - LOL)

Hi There! I just saw you are on FB - How did I not see you on there yet? Are you friends with Angel? I am on there too and friends with her. I can't look for you at work right now but I will look later. How are you?

    Hi Marla,

I just saw your message today - May 17. Can you believe it? I didn't even know about the Visitor Messages feature. Still not sure how it works, so I hope you see my message.
What a shame! - I even didn't know about any Sjogren's Conference, and I live in Burlingame. Oh, my God - and I also have Sjogren's syndrome along with lupus.
So, what did I miss? Was there anything worth? Did they find a cure or at least a new medication that works better?
    Welcome to California.
I am kind of a newcomer too. Moved here 3 years ago from North Carolina.
    Hugs

    Hi Sandy,
    Thanks for thinking about me.
Yes, I've been watching the news out of Greece pretty closely, too. Jeff will have to go to a security briefing at NPS before he leaves the country, so I'm guessing that he will be pretty prepared to keep us safe. I'm just hoping that the organizers of the conference don't decide to cancel it. We leave in 35 days, so I hope that Greece gets it's act together by then. I'm sure that they need our tourist dollars!
I'm feeling pretty good. I've got a strawberry-rhubarb pie in the oven right now. Next, I'm making the Spanish rice for a Mexican pot luck dinner that we're going to at the base commander's house this evening. My life is busy!
    How are you doing?
    Hugs,
    Marla

Hi there! Been thinking of you lately with all this coverage of the Greek banks financial crisis on the news. Where I work, we have MSNBC or CNBC on all day so I have been hearing it and thinking of you the last couple of days. How are you? I know you have a lot of exciting things going on right now. How are you feeling? All packed for Greece? I am so jealous! Santori is definately on my travel wish list. One day *sigh*.
