yeah we're lucky that we only get mild symptoms! i feel soo bad reading some of these forums.
    but idk.
i see from your pictures, you did that lupus walk.
    how did it go?!

i'm walking in the one that comes to pittsburgh on september 13th...

ha yeahh i know what you mean. but idk, i've been in remission since being on them... just like small mild symptoms... soo i mean, i guess they work in my favor.
but some people have REALLY bad reactions to them!

haha yeah i don't think anyone likes it! but its definetly more tolerable in the lower dosages.
im not sure if i'll ever be completely off, but hopefully i will be. this one lady my cousin knows who has lupus, is just on 1 mg, forever. because when she stopped taking them completely, she went right into a flare.
hopefully tho, we can both get off it completely!

haha yeahh thats what my mom said too. plus i mean, i plan on getting two sets of senior pictures. the ones the school takes...and like ones on my own, later in the next year.... closer to like my graduation. so hopefully by then, there will be no more prednisone, or at least VERYY little dosages !

haha yeahh i was like, an aggressive eater too! like i wasn't tryin to share anything, and i would actually get mad if people would try to take something from me!
it was ridiculous! but yeah my cheeks are still puffy too! haha, but i've kinda grown to like them. at least they arent hugeeee like the were before! but im kinda mad cuz we take senior pictures next week [[which i dont really understand why....]]
but i am going to have puffy cheeks for them...but oh well. haha.
so i went to the nephrologist yesterday, and apparenlty i have like no inflammation anymore! and that, i forget what it was called, but my one level went from 176 to 2 !

wow thats really good news to hear about your protein levels!! im actually going to my nephrologist today, so i guess i'll find out later on if my levels have improved. i hope so. haha
its also good to hear that your tapering down on your steroids by so much! i'm still at 20 mg, but i've started at 40, so its already half. and hopefully, next monday, i'll find out if i get lowered to 15 mg.
im just glad the non-stop eating has stopped! haha i mean i eat alot still, but its my normal kind of alot....if that makes sense? hahaha
ahh i know, i just have 10 more days of school and then i'm DONE!

Just Checkin In...

by tasha on 05-27-2009 at 11:07 PM
Went to San Francisco last weekend! Had a blast! No pains either... woohoo!

I've been doing really well. Labs are still normal, and I'm now down to 10mg of prednisone! I couldn't be happier about that. And my rheumatologist said I can lower by 1mg every 2 weeks until I am prednisone-no-more (so long as I don't have any problems, but I am VERY optimistic about this!)

I'm expecting a slight flare in a day or so, as I always get when I lower prednisone, as my

I feel so achey today :(

by tasha on 05-17-2009 at 01:12 PM
A few days ago my rheumatologist said I could lower my prednisone to 12.5mg! Yay! But today, about 3 days later, I feel very achey. My feet, knees, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, pretty much EVERYWHERE hurts! I went to the gym this morning thinking it might help but it just made me feel worse. This sucks because I have a lot planned for today. I'm going out to lunch with my dad and then we're going shopping for a new BBQ, which I've wanted for a VERY long time. Then I was going

It just keeps getting better!!!

by tasha on 05-13-2009 at 10:38 AM
A lot has happened since I last posted in here... and it's all good! The day after my last appointment with my rheumatologist, I went to see another rheumatologist up at UCLA. He pretty much reassured me that my rheumatologist was doing the right thing in terms of my treatment, and he was extremely impressed with my progress as he was looking at my lab results over the course of the last several months. I was also able to participate in a few studies they were conducting at UCLA. They didn't

Feeling MUCH Better Now!

by tasha on 04-28-2009 at 03:29 PM
I just had an appointment with my rheumatologist and I feel SO much better about everything now. I got some things answered, and I feel pretty good about my condition again.

The reason she increased my CellCept to 2,500 was because the blood levels in my urine have remained unchanged even though my protein levels have gone down drastically. She thinks I need the extra dosage to get the blood levels down. I'm okay with that. I was just afraid it was worse!

I also
