I've had Lupus for many years.. Back in 1972 when I was 12 years old I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, a Lung disease.. shortly thereafter I had bilateral polyneuphritis, a kidney disease. Fortunately for me My Specialist treated my illness with Chemo. In the 70's Lupus was known as a fatal disease so the diagnosis was not easily given.. Over the years I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, RA, an Autoimmune disease and ITP.. all stem from the LUPUS diagnosis... I've been through everything and have
I apologize, but I need to vent for a bit. Today started out fine, a normal Wednesday. Got to the hospital around 7:15am to start my four hour round of Plasmapheresis. Found out my platelets increased on their own from 52,000 to 60,000, so I was pretty happy about that. The Doctor informed me that they needed to remove the catheter in my neck because it had been in for too long (they are supposed to last two weeks, mine had been in for 7 weeks). I knew this was coming, so I wasn't surprised.
Went to a orthopedic specialist and was told that I have Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. The blood results confirmed this. I am confused and a bit scared to be honest with everyone.

So the holiday I've been planning for the past 6 months is finally happening this weekend when I head off to Europe. I was starting to get so excited until I started to think about all the little things I need to do to be organised. I've been experiencing the brain fog quite badly over the past few months but these past few weeks it has become very detrimental to my cause. My partner has been telling me for weeks to organise travel insurance which I thought was as easy as heading to my private health
